CHALLENGE 6,000: ASCENT OF THE ACOTANGO VOLCANO - 10 days

Conquer Your First 6,000m Peak in the Bolivian Andes

This adventure is designed for those who dream of reaching their first summit over 6,000 meters in the breathtaking Bolivian Andes. With a gradual acclimatization process, we'll explore some of the country’s most stunning landscapes before facing the ultimate challenge: the summit of Acotango Volcano (6,052m).

Day 1: Welcome to La Paz – Exploring the World’s Highest Capital

Arrive in La Paz (3,650m), one of South America's most stunning cities. We’ll spend the day acclimatizing with a cable car city tour, visiting scenic viewpoints and vibrant markets filled with culture and tradition.

Day 2: Salar de Uyuni – The Vastness of a Salt Sea

Travel to the spectacular Salar de Uyuni (3,650m), the world’s largest salt flat. Explore its surreal landscapes, including Incahuasi Island with its ancient cacti, and enjoy an unforgettable sunset.

Day 3: Colorful Lagoons – A High-Altitude Natural Wonder

Head into the southern Altiplano to visit the stunning Laguna Colorada, home to Andean flamingos, and the emerald-green Laguna Verde, set against the backdrop of the towering Licancabur Volcano. A perfect day to continue adjusting to the altitude while taking in breathtaking scenery.

Day 4: Sol de Mañana Geysers & the Desert – Extreme Nature

Visit the Sol de Mañana geysers at nearly 5,000m, where the earth breathes through fumaroles and bubbling hot springs. Explore the surreal Dalí Desert before returning to Uyuni.

Day 5: Return to La Paz – Mysticism at Lake Titicaca

Travel back to La Paz, then head to the legendary Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Visit Copacabana and sail to Isla del Sol, the birthplace of Incan mythology, where we’ll spend the night.

Day 6: Sunrise on Isla del Sol – Back to La Paz

Wake up to a magical sunrise over Lake Titicaca, then explore the island’s ancient Incan trails before returning to La Paz for a well-deserved rest before the next stage of our adventure.

Day 7: Adrenaline on the Death Road

Cycle down from nearly 5,000m to the lush Yungas rainforest on the legendary Death Road. An epic day filled with adrenaline and stunning contrasts between the mountains and the jungle.

Day 8: Journey to Sajama National Park

Travel to Sajama National Park, home to Bolivia’s highest peak. Explore the vast landscapes of the Altiplano and prepare for the big ascent ahead.

Day 9: Summit Day – Conquering Acotango (6,052m)

Start the climb before sunrise. The ascent is challenging yet achievable, with breathtaking views of the Altiplano and the Western Andes. Reaching the summit is an unforgettable reward! After descending, relax in the natural hot springs of Sajama.

Day 10: Return to La Paz – Farewell to the Andes

Head back to La Paz, with time to enjoy the city before wrapping up this incredible adventure.
