Trekking tour through the Cordillera Real
Discover the most impressive landscapes of the Cordillera Real on a trekking expedition through beautiful landscapes. This entertaining itinerary will take you to conquer several peaks, but above all, you'll experience high-altitude trekking and marvel at the magnificent views.
We recommend a prior acclimatization program (depending on your availability, you can spend time in Toro Toro or you can do an 8 or 14-day classic tourism program)
Day 1: Arkhata Lagoon (4950 masl)
We depart from La Paz heading for the Pacuani Pass and the connecting route to South Yungas. After a 2.5-hour transfer, we arrive at the start of our hike at 4,280 meters above sea level. With impressive views of Illimani's northernmost peak, we begin the ascent to 4,950 meters above sea level along a marked trail with strategic stops. At the end of the day, we return to the city.
Day 2: Chacaltaya - Chiarkini Lagoon - Huayna Base Camp
Today we face a greater challenge with the ascent of the former highest ski resort in the world: Chacaltaya (5450 meters above sea level), continuing towards the Chiarkini lagoon to then spend the night at the Huayna Potosi base camp.
Day 3: HP Base Camp - Laguna Esperanza
Our tour today will take us to sleep in a glacial lagoon, a movie-like setting, at the base of the imposing west face of Huayna Potosí.
Day 4: Laguna Esperanza - Laguna Chiarkhota
Connecting section to the Condoriri Valley base camp, the Chiarkhota lagoon, on a long but low-intensity route.
Day 5: Chiarkhota - Austria Peak - Jurikhota
Ascent to the wonderful Austria Peak (5350 meters above sea level), an ideal place for impressive views of the entire mountain range. On the way down, there is the possibility of visiting the Ventanani Glacier and exiting through the Jurikhota Lagoon, from where the vehicle will pick us up to spend the night in Peñas.
Day 5: Peñas and return to La Paz
A day in Peñas, where you can enjoy various activities, including hiking along the rocky ridge, rock climbing, or touring the local adventure park, before returning to the city where the service concludes.
